Guanacaste

Guanacaste is gorgeous. It has so much to offer with its beautiful hills, mountains, valleys, rainforests, volcanoes, and majestic Pacific Ocean. Its weather is ideal. Guanacaste tends to be sunnier and warmer than most of Costa Rica. Additionally, its good roadways, shopping, infrastructure, clinics, and hospitals make it wonderful to retire. Retirement communities of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans are emerging everywhere in Guanacaste.

Town of Liberia

Tree-lined, elegant and unpretentious Liberia is home to approximately 45,000 citizens. Liberia started developing in 1801 as a resting place between Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Many who settled in Liberia were ranchers. To this day, many ranchers still call Liberia their home.

As old as Liberia is, it is not without modern buildings. Situated in the center is its new, impressive white church. It has wonderful historic houses, too. With increased air travel, Guanacaste has boomed in tourism in the last couple of years.
